Community Interpreter Training and Consulting

I have trained interpreters working in a variety of community and legal settings, and have designed custom training curriculums for interpreters and interviewing staff supporting operations at the Bangkok office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Thai judiciary, and the International Rescue Committee. I am a licensed lead trainer of the Cross Cultural Communications curriculum The Community Interpreter International, a 40 or 60-hour interpreter training course.

I am an advocate for excellence in interpreter training, because it is through professional training that interpreters of all working languages develop the skills they need to support true, meaningful language access to services for limited English proficient (LEP) community members.

I can design a custom curriculum for your team, or deliver a curriculum that your organization already has in place. I am available for questions or consultations regarding interpreter training, and would be happy to hear from anyone interested in promoting the professionalization of community interpreters.
